Extending Care to Women in Shelters

Community Care | Pretoria
Women's hands together in solidarity

The same hygiene packs shared with children were also extended to women experiencing violence and trafficking, who are currently based at one of the shelters in Pretoria.

The women come from South Africa and neighbouring countries, reminding us that care, dignity, and protection know no borders. Each woman received a hygiene pack containing essential personal care items, offering not just practical support but a tangible reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Through this outreach, the Dr. KeDiBone Mokwena Foundation has begun building a meaningful relationship with the centre. Regular visits and ongoing support are planned to ensure that these women continue to receive the care and resources they need as they rebuild their lives.

Women are not alone. Their dignity matters. Their healing matters. Their lives matter.

This initiative is part of our broader Community Care programme, which recognises that vulnerability takes many forms and that true community support means reaching out to those who are often invisible in society. When we stand with women in shelters, we stand for the fundamental right of every person to live with safety, dignity, and hope.
