Granny's Garden Tour book and events

Granny's Garden Tour is more than a children's book. It is a journey of building resilience through plants, stories, and nurturing.

Published in 2025, the book uses the garden as a living classroom to help children learn about strength, patience, gratitude, and growth. Through the character of Granny and her vibrant garden, young readers discover that caring for a seedling mirrors the care we must give ourselves and one another.

Children receiving plants and books

The book has already reached parents, Early Learning Centres, and schools across South Africa. It is truly humbling to see parents reading it to and with their children, creating moments of connection that span generations.

Granny's Garden Tour represents the heart of our Foundation's approach: combining practical skills (gardening, food growing) with emotional and social learning (resilience, patience, gratitude). When a child plants a seed and watches it grow, they learn that good things take time, that consistency matters, and that nurturing life is one of the most rewarding things we can do.
